Abstract

1,185,455. Feeding sheets. RICOH KK. 9 Aug., 1968 [17 Aug., 1967 (2)], No. 38044/68. Heading B8R. A pile of sheets 4 is supported on a table 1 raised to keep constant the level of the top of the pile, between side plates 2, 3 laterally adjustable according to the width of the sheets, and the sheets are separated from the top by friction rollers 7, 8 on a shaft 9 passing through slots 10 in the side plates, the slots defining guides 11,12 on which are vertically slidable metal retaining devices 13, 14, each comprising a finger 16, 17 resting by gravity on the front corner of the top sheet and an extension 17, 18 extending downwardly in front of the pile, the body of each device 13, 14 containing a fitting of synthetic resin. Slidable laterally on a front plate 19 are bumper plates 20 engaging the front of the pile and having recesses receiving parts 23 of the side walls. The devices 13, 14 are replaceable according to the sheets used by others of different weight and with differently shaped fingers.
