Abstract
1,184,669. Valves. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP. 18 Sept., 1967 [10 Oct., 1966], No. 42356/67. Heading F2V. [Also in Division Fl] A dispensing valve has a number of plastics pads 18 secured to a reciprocable inlet manifold 12 and each biased by a spring 26 into contact with a surface 31 of a valve gate provided with a number of outlets 32, one for each pad. Passage 23 in the pad connects via adjustable throttle valve 41 with the inlet manifold passage 14 and by reciprocation of the manifold is aligned with the outlet 23 to dispense fluid as is displaced therefrom to prevent flow. The reciprocation of the manifold is produced by a double acting piston-cylinder. The movement of the piston is controlled by a four-way double pilot pressure-operated valve in turn controlled by two pilot actuation camoperated spring-return valves actuated by the movement of a piston in a cylinder. The latter piston moves in a double acting piston-cylinder controlled via check valves by a four-way pilot pressure operated spring return valve the rate of movement of the latter piston being adjustable to alter the time the passages 23 and 32 are aligned.
