[Also in Division C2] Fungicidal and vermicidal compositions comprise halogenated furyl-benzimidazoles of the formula: wherein Hal is a chlorine or bromine atom, R is a halogen atom, R' is a halogen atom or an alkyl group, m is from 0 to 2, n is from 1 to 3 and p is from 0 to 4, provided that the sum of m and n is not more than 3, obtained by reacting compounds of the above formula in which n is zero with chlorine or bromine at 100 to 180‹C in the presence of acids, together with a solid or liquid diluent or carrier. The composition may be used as a seed-dressing agent.
