Abstract
1,179,986. Drying air by cooling. BOWE, BOHLER & WEBER K.G. 20 March, 1968 [23 March, 1967], No. 13545/68. Heading B1L. [Also in Division D1] In a dry cleaning machine having an external closed path which includes an adsorber wherein dry cleaning fluid vapour is adsorbed, the air stream leaving the adsorber is made to pass through a condenser whereby the water vapour content of the stream is reduced to a desired level before the stream is recirculated to the dry cleaning drum. Downstream of the adsorber there are preferably located in turn a filter to remove particles of entrained adsorbent before the air stream reaches the condenser, and a heater to wash the stream leaving the condenser before it reenters the dry cleaning drum. The degree of cooling provided by the condenser is controlled by the temperature of the effluent coolant so as to leave the required residual amount of water vapour in the air stream and provide the required humidity in the air stream leaving the heater. The degree of heating applied is controlled by the temperature of the air stream leaving the heater.
