Abstract

1,174,195. Vehicle level regulators. ALFRED TEVES G.m.b.H. 11 May, 1967 [16 Sept., 1966], No. 21863/67. Heading B7D. A vehicle level regulator between vehicle body 2 and axle 3 comprises a level adjuster 1 connected by a pressure fluid line 18 to a double spool valve 6, the valve being connected to the vehicle body and to a level sensor comprising rod 13 within a sleeve 12 which is connected with the valve and attached to the axle, wherein a change in the body level detected by the sensor will cause the valve to supply or withdraw fluid to or from the adjuster 1, the fluid line also including a pump 2, accumulator 4, reservoir 5 and valve 3. The casing 7 of valve 6 includes spools 8 and 9, forced against seats 15, 16 by a spring 14, such that if the vehicle body height becomes too low, stop 11 on rod 13 will move spool 9 from its seat, thereby connecting the pump 2 to adjuster 1 until normal body height is regained and stop 11 no longer contacts the spool, and if the body height is too great, stop 10 will move spool 8 from its seat, thereby connecting adjuster 1 with the reservoir 5.
