Abstract

1,169,697. Laminated packaging material. ROBINSON WAXED PAPER CO. Ltd. 22 Nov., 1966 [22 Nov., 1965], No. 49569/65. Heading B5N. [Also in Division B8] A heat-sealable wrapper has a pressure-sensitive-adhesive coated strip secured to the sealable surface by the adhesive with one end coinciding with an edge of the wrapper to form an unsealed tear strip in a package. The strip 3 may extend into the end fold preventing adhesion of flaps 5 and 6 along the strip. The wrapper may be itself heat-sealable or can carry a heat-sealant material. In the latter case the sealant may be laminated between an outer layer of printed paper and an inner layer of tissue through which it penetrates when heat is applied. Nicks at each side of the strip end facilitate tearing.
