Abstract

1,166,524. Grab excavators. S. SEROTA. 31 Jan., 1968 [2 Feb., 1967], No. 5132/67. Heading E1F. An excavator comprises a mast 12 suspended by one end from a jib 13 and adjustably fixed at its other end relative to a chassis 17, a beam 9 suspended by a cable 19 and mounted for guided movement along the mast 12, and a grab 3 mounted on the beam 9, the beam 9 having attached thereto a cable 25 adapted to force the grab towards the ground. A bracket 20 is connected to the mast 12 by universal mountings 57 and is carried by an arm fixed to the chassis 17, the bracket being adjustable horizontally relative to the arm.
