Abstract

1,163,901. Cable glands. R. A. BLUNDELL. 7 March, 1967 [10 Dec., 1965], No. 52450/65. Heading H2E. A cable gland has a resilient membrane 7 in sealing contact around cable sheathing 12. The membrane is secured, e.g. by bonding to a mounting ring 19 and is sufficiently resilient for temporary reversal of its positional inclination on receiving the cable, the armouring 11 of which is clamped between the rings 9, 10 and 9, 19 when a ring nut 6 is tightened on the body 1 of the gland. A similar membrane 8 seals an inner sheath 13 and the membranes are made of rubber or resilient plastics material.
