Abstract

1,161,116. Spring catches, stud and socket fastenings. ARTHUR SHAW & CO. Ltd. 23 Aug., 1966 [23 Aug., 1965], No. 36208/65. Headings E2A and E2B. A fastener comprises a base part 1 with inclined walls 4 and a cover part 2 with inclined edges 11 which parts slidably engage, the part 2 has two pockets 12 with inclined floors which provide two end walls 13 for engagement by the ends of the arms 9 of a blade spring secured to the base of the part 1 and extending through openings 5 in the part 1. The cover part has a hole 15 coinciding with each pocket for the insertion of a tool to depress an arm 9 to disengage an end wall 13 and so release the parts to allow relative sliding movement and their disengagement. The cover part may have a groove extending from each pocket to the end of the cover part. The parts may be cylindrical in shape or of any other shape. The arms 9 may extend through divergent slits in the base part or only one resilient arm may be used at right angles to the length of the parts. The resilient arms may engage with ribs extending from one part.
