An extensible cable comprises extensible helically wound coaxial conductors 11, 14 arranged on the inside and outside respectively of an extensible tubular insulating jacket 12, and an extensible insulating outer jacket 15. Alternatively, the conductors may consist of woven braids. The cable is intended to have a capacitance substantially unchanged by the extension thereof, and formulµ are given by which the cable may be designed.
