Abstract

1,156,948. Photographic copying apparatus. KONISHIROKLI PHOTO INDUSTRY CO. Ltd. Oct.26, 1966, No.47986/66. Headings G2A andG2H. A stationary original 1 is illuminated by a moving light source 2 which traverses in Fig. 1(a) from left to right. The light reflected from the original passes through an optical system comprising a pair of parallel mirrors 3, 5 having a lens 4 interposed between them, the optical system as a whole moving at half the speed of the light source, in the same direction. Finally the light is reflected through a slit 7a in a stationary shield 7 to fall on a lightsensitive copy sheet 6 moving in the same direction as the source 2, at the same speed. Thus a complete image of the original 1 is produced on the sheet 6. Fig. 4 shows the arrangement applied to an electro-photographic copying machine, the copy sheet 6 being disposed round a drum, with a charging unit 10 and developing unit 11. The original 1 is scanned by the moving light source and optical system as above described, the light being reflected through slit 7a on to sheet 6 on the rotating drum. The image is transferred to a sheet 17 from a supply roll 17a at a station 12, then fixed at station 19 and passed out between rollers 18. The sheet 6 then passes a neutralizing electrode 14 and cleaners 15, any residual powder being fed to a container 16. Fig. 5 (not shown) is a machine in which the image is fixed directly on the light-sensitive sheet, without any transfer operation. In this case a further mirror (21) is provided to give a right-reading image.
