A herbicidal composition comprises a mixture of a triazine wherein X is halogen or -ZY where Z is O or S and Y is alkyl, and R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> are H or alkyl; together with a benzimidazole wherein R<SP>5</SP> is H, alkyl or -COOR<SP>10</SP>, where R<SP>10</SP> is alkyl, substituted alkyl, aryl or substituted aryl and R<SP>6</SP>, R<SP>7</SP>, R<SP>8</SP> and R<SP>9</SP> are selected from H, alkyl, hydroxy, alkoxy, nitro, halogen, pseudo halogen, substituted alkyl, carboxy, carboxy ester, carboxyamide, N-substituted carboxy amide, amino, substituted amino, thiol, alkylthiol and oxygenated derivatives thereof, sulphonic acid and esters and amides thereof and heterocyclic rings attached by N, and wherein X is trifluoromethyl or pentafluoroethyl.
