Abstract

1,149,668. Latches. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 24 July, 1967 [26 April, 1966], No. 18198/66. Heading E2A. A bolt 1 pivotally mounted in a casing 7 is molded of plastics material and has integrally moulded with it a resilient finger 6 which engages the casing to urge the bolt from intermediate positions into the fastening position shown or into a fully withdrawn position at right angles to the fastening position. The bolt preferably has a bevelled portion 2, and a hollow square metal insert 3 moulded into it to accommodate the spindle of a handle 5. In a modification, the finger 6 extends reversely from the under part of the bolt. Various suitable thermoplastics are specified and reinforcing filters may be incorporated.
