Abstract

1,037,527. Moulding. ROLLS-ROYCE Ltd. Dec. 17, 1964 [Sept. 24, 1963], No. 20732/64. Heading B5A. A rubber or silicone rubber die is first made having a desired cavity therein, the majority of the air in the cavity is then evacuated, and a molten thermoplastic or thermosetting material is injected into the die at low pressure. In the example a wax pattern is made by evacuating the air from a cavity 16 formed between two halves of a rubber die 10 and then wax is injected at a pressure of 2 to 25 lbs. per sq. inch. The die 10 is mounted in a cylindrical box 11 having an inlet 14 with a valve 17.
