Abstract
1,035,126. Coffee percolators. U. BALDISLI. March 31, 1964 [Aug. 3, 1963], No. 13223/64. Heading A4D. Coffee is formed by heating water in a reservoir 2 so that when the water boils it is forced by the steam pressure up through a tube 9 into a cooler upper chamber and discharged below the boiling point on to a filter 11 containing the coffee grounds. The infusion percolates through the holes of the filter 11 into a hollow space 10 of a cylindrical body 8 and is delivered through a tube 14 directly into a receptacle. Vent holes 20 are provided in the body 8 to prevent any build-up of pressure in the space 10 due to steam mixing with the water and passing up the tube 9. To prevent any excess steam pressure building up in the reservoir 2 an outlet orifice 16 with a whistle aperture 17 is provided. Cessation of this whistle will indicate the end of the operation. The body 8 and a cap 18 may be formed of a transparent synthetic plastics material e.g. Macrilon.
