Abstract

1,033,992. Refuse bins. S. G. SIMS. May 19, 1965 [March 10, 1964], No. 9949/64. Heading A4A. In a dust bin, particularly for use in the dustless transfer of refuse to a collecting vehicle and having a hinge mounting 12 for the lid and a bottom hoop 13, a reinforcing strap 11 is fitted against the side to prevent deformation of the bin in the automatic opening of the lid. Between its ends the strap is of flattened U-shape or channel section and the ends are secured to the bin by welding or rivets 16 the upper end being located beneath a pressing 14 of the hinge-mounting and the lower end pressed to the contour of the bottom hoop. A metal pressing 17 is riveted over the strap, to give greater strength and limit the nesting of superposed bins, and a rubber end ring 20 is fitted.
