Abstract

1,032,784. Methods of erecting buildings. C. VAN DER LELY N.V. Sept. 11, 1962 [Oct. 4, 1961], No. 34707/62. Heading E1A. A building is erected by apparatus mounted on extensions 54 of the foundation beams 7. The apparatus is a lift 57 running on rails 56 and comprising two uprights constructed of beams 60, between which a platform is raised and lowered by winches 67 and cables. The building is constructed of pre-fabricated units 47 &c. brought on a vehicle 81, hauled on to the lift by cables 78 and winches 67 and lowered or raised to the required level and then hauled on to the foundations or other units by cables 82 and the winches 67 or by cables and winches 105 mounted on the units already erected. Platforms 62, 63 are provided on the lift. Each unit comprises a frame, Fig. 1 (not shown), having walls, floors and ceilings and rests on angle irons on the foundation or on another unit.
