Abstract

1,025,073. Ventilators. TITUS MANUFACTURING CORPORATION. Jan. 15, 1963 [May 14, 1962], No. 1851/63. Heading F4V. In a slot diffuser a flange 27 defines one edge of the slot and a pivoted vane 21 extending for substantially the whole length of the slot determines the air discharge pattern. As illustrated, a double diffuser straddles a lighting fixture and the air flow to the limbs are controlled by dampers 32 and 33 pivoted at 35<SP>1</SP> and operated through the diffuser slots by rods 36 and 38. The limbs have trapezoidal side walls 5, 6, 11 and 12 which converge towards the slots so that their cross-sectional areas are substantially constant and together do not exceed the cross-sectional area of a cylindrical air supply neck 15<SP>1</SP>. In another embodiment, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), air is supplied to a single slot via a horizontal oval neck 53 and the air flow rate is controlled by a vertical plate 54 pivoted to a pair of parallel horizontal arms 55 and 56.
