Abstract
1,021,775. Colour television receiving tubes. SYLVANIA ELECTRIC PRODUCTS Inc. Dec. 11, 1964 [Dec. 13, 1963], No. 50626/64. Heading H1D. A three-gun, three-colour, shadow-mask-type cathode-ray tube in which electron beams emanating from individual terminal accelerating electrodes of the gun structure are directed through corresponding apertures in a disc-like base element of a magnetic polepiece assembly which deflects the beams so they all converge to a point on the screen has a plurality of positioning members arranged so as to ensure a coaxial mating relationship between the apertures and the terminal electrodes. The positioning members may be L-shaped brackets so disposed as to position the terminal electrodes coaxial with respect to the apertures in the base element, the electrodes having one or more outstanding tabs or lugs for joining to the base element. In further embodiments a plurality of upstanding integral tabs may be produced by suitably punching the base element; an upstanding rim is provided on the base element for each electrode which may have an annular abutment formed on its outer surface, or projecting tabs extending longitudinally from the periphery of the terminal edge of each electrode may project into perforations formed in the base element.
