Abstract
1,020,521. Vehicle doors. R. H. DENNIS. July 17, 1964 [July 31, 1963; March 13, 1964], Nos. 30359/63 and 10831/64. Heading B7J. A vehicle door has one part 3 pivoted to the body 1 at 3a and a slidable part 4. The part 3 may be in two portions which are hinged together, Fig. 2 (not shown), and the lower edge of the lower portion rests on a gutter at either side of the door opening when the door is open. The upper part 3 may pivot and slide into the interior of the vehicle; alternatively it may be flexible and tends to fold when the part 3 is opened. Mechanical, hydraulic or electrical mechanism may be used to open both doors simultaneously.
