Abstract
1,016,452. Stop motions. T. M. M. (RESEARCH) Ltd. March 18, 1964 [Feb.28, 1963], No. 8134/63. Heading D1D. In a textile machine stop motion wherein a pivoted feeler 14 is normally held in an inoperative position by the running thread (left hand side of Fig. 1) and thread breakage or slackening causes feeler 14 to first undo gravity in a first direction to bring an associated conducting element 15 against a contact strip 16 (centre of Fig 1.) to activate a relay and stop the machine, a body 19 1 preferably of a flexible material such as rubber, is provided to prevent the feeler 14 pivoting in a direction opposite to said first direction except under manual pressure whereupon the element 15 engages a slot, recess-or stop in body 19 such that the feeler 14 is held in an inoperative position (right hand side of Fig. 1.). The feeler 14 is held in such a position if it desired to restart the machine without rethreading the broken end. As shown the element 15 is mounted on the rear end of a shaft 12 pivoted in a conducting bar 11, the feeler 14 being mounted in the front end of the shaft. The conducting strip 16 is mounted on an insulating strip 17 and the bodies 19 which are non-conducting are mounted on the strip 16.
