1,013,193. Anti-static tyre. GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER CO. Nov. 28, 1962 [Jan. 29, 1962], No. 45059/62. Heading B7C. A pneumatic tyre with a textile carcass incorporates a rubber ply 11 containing lengths of wire, the ply extending from the tread region to the vicinity of the beads, to dissipate static electricity. The wires may be of copper or steel, # to 2 inches long and not necessarily touching, and 5 to 20% of the ply may be wire. The ply is applied outside the carcass, may be covered by a wall 12, and need not extend under the tread.
