Abstract

1,008,031. Furniture &c. joints. J. W. ARCHER. Sept. 25, 1964 [Sept. 27, 1963] , No. 38168/63. Heading A4W. In a frame joint construction for racks, shelving &c. in which tubular members are inter-connected a block 1 has facets 2 each provided with a threaded bore 3 to receive a steel stud 4 which secures a nylon bush 5 to the facet by means of a nut 7, the bush 5 being an interference fit in a length of tubing 8. The bush may be also secured to the bush by a screw 9 passing through a hole 10 in the tube and entering a threaded bore 11 in the bush. The block 1 may be of different shapes including cylindrical in which case the end of the tube and its bush would be cut arcuately to snugly abut the facet.
