Abstract

1,001,917. Spring catches. SHORN ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. May 12, 1964 No. 19778/64. Heading E2A. [Also in Division F4] In a fitting for a double-ended tubular lamp, lamp holders each having a flat strip attached to it and extending at right angles to the length of the fitting, each strip having a locking projection on one face, are secured in mounting brackets on the ends of the fitting by inserting the strips in the direction of their length between the surface of the bracket and a resilient member on the bracket until the locking projecting engages in a recess on the bracket. As shown, the fitting consists of an inverted channel shaped body 14 to which are secured brackets 17 carrying spring steel strips 24 at their free ends. The lamp holder unit carries a cover plate 13 to close the end of the channel 14 and a strip 16 having a pressed out projection 22 to engage in a recess 23 in the bracket 17. A tongue at the upper end of the strip 16 engages in a hole 21 in the bracket to prevent sideways movement of the strip.
