Abstract

1,095,994. Bearings. MINERVA LABORATORIES (INSTRUMENTS) Ltd. Aug. 10, 1964 [Aug. 9, 1963], No. 31617/63. Heading F2A. A wheel 3, having a centrally located cylindrical cavity 6 formed therein, is mounted by means of balls 21 on a shaft 8 having a collar 19 thereon with a groove 20 therein. A ring 10 is force fitted into the cavity 6 and has an outer race-way portion 12 formed thereon; and a ring 11 is snap-fitted into the cavity 6 and has an outer race-way portion 17 formed thereon. The groove 20 of the collar 19 forms the inner race-way. The wheel 3, the rings 10, 11 and the shaft 8 are made of synthetic plastics material and the balls are made of nylon or metal. In modifications, the collar 19 may be in two parts and the shaft may be made of metal; the division between the rings 10, 11 may be axially central; the race-ways 12, 17 may be of V formation; and the ring 11 may be replaced by a washer which abuts the balls.
