Abstract

1,092,912. Underground roadway profiling machine. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. Oct. 2, 1964 [Oct. 4, 1963], No. 39252/ 63. Heading E1F. The machine, preferably for use in the reprofiling of mine roadways, consists of a self advanceable arched frame and cutter means mounted on and movable around the leading profile of the arch for re-shaping the mine roadway section. Preferably two cutter units angularly spaced by, preferably, 90‹ are mounted on for movement in unison around the arch profile. Each unit consists of a cutter drum carried by an arm pivotably supported about an axis parallel to the direction of advance of the frame on a carrier movable along the frame by an endless haulage cable extending around the arch profile. A jack between the drum-carrying arm and the carrier permits of pivotal movement of the arm about the output shaft of the drum-driving motor mounted on the carrier.
