Self-taping screws having cold rolled threads and upset heads are made from stainless steel, containing 0.1% to 0.25% carbon, 14.0% to 17.5% chromium, and from 5.5% to 7.0% nickel, preferably 0 to 3.5% molybdenum, and the balance, apart from impurities, being iron.
