Abstract

1,077,244. Flooring panels. P. MARTIN. May 19, 1965 [May 19, 1964], No. 21269/65. Heading E1W. A prefabricated panel adapted to span between supporting structures to form floors, roofs &c. comprises a framework in which I-section beams 3 are connected at their ends by transverse members 13, the webs of the beams 3 and the members 13 being of equal height and the extremities of the flanges 2 of the beams being secured to the upper and lower edges of the members 13. Other board members 8 are connected to the upper edges or lower edges of the members 13. The webs of the beams 3 may be pierced at 4 and 5 for ventilation purposes and for the insertion of struts 6, 7. The length and breadth of each panel is a module corresponding to a multiple or sub-multiple of a definite length, so that the panels may be arranged to cover square or rectangular areas when arranged parallel and/or at right angles. The specification describes an assembly of panels combined with an edging unit, Fig. 8 (not shown), which may be in the form of a box to contain a roller blind.
