Abstract
1,072,960. Pneumatic discharge of containers. FREIGHT DEVELOPMENT CO. Ltd. Nov. 29, 1965 [Dec. 3, 1964], No. 49232/64. Headings B8A and B8E. A static or transportable container 101 for powdered or granular material is provided with a pair of inclined air-permeable floors 104 separated by a well 105a from which leads a laterally extending outlet duct 105. To promote flow in the outlet duct, a supplementary air pipe 110 is connected to the top of the container and passes externally of the container to an opening in the discharge duct between a discharge control valve (108), Fig. 2 (not shown), and an end connection (107). The discharge of air from the pipe 110 into the duct 105 is controlled by a valve 109 and the velocity of the air arriving at the duet is increased by providing a restriction 111.
