Abstract
1, 071, 656. Electrophysical measurement. M. MACHACEK and J. PRUSEK. June 2, 1964, No.22667/64. Heading G1N. Variations in the level alter the capacitance between a partially immersed electrode 7 and an electrode 13 which may be the liquid container, the capacitance (C 1 ) forming with an inductance L a parallel resonant circuit which is connected to the transistor T by tappings 1, 2, the former by a capacitor C 2 , to form an oscillator. The transistor base is connected to the power supply Q through a potential divider R 1 R 2 and the emitter through a diode D. Changes in level and consequently of the capacitance C 1 cause a change in the frequency of oscillation and, due to the change in the reactance of the capacitor C 2 , of the current drawn by the transistor, as indicated by the meter A. The electrode 13 may extend through the whole depth of the container and be associated with alternative vertically spaced electrodes 7 for indicating the level in different regions of the container.
