Abstract

1,071,163. Printing plates. GEVAERT PHOTO-PRODUCTION N.V. April 30, 1964 [May 2, 1963], No. 18072/64. Heading B6C. [Also in Division G2] Lithographic printing plates are improved by lacquering the plate with a single phase lacquer comprising a solution of an alkyd resin in an organic solvent. The lacquer may also contain a phenolformaldehyde resin, a drying oil, a pigment or a dye. The printing plate is preferably produced by the silver salt diffusion transfer process such as that disclosed in Specification 913,591. The plate may be heated during or after lacquering and before use.
