Abstract

1,067,252. Valves. NORTH AMERICAN AVIATION Inc. Jan. 6, 1965 [April 1, 1964]. No. 633/65. Heading F2V. [Also in Division G3] A valve 201 is responsive to the pressures P s1 , P s2 of two sources to connect one source only to a load connected to a line 22 and to switch to the other source should the connected source fall below a proportion of the pressure of the other source. The valve also controls the connection of the outlet of the load in a line 23 to passages 15, 16 connected to the respective sources. With the valve in the position shown, source P s1 is connected to the load line 22 and the return 23 to passage 15. The pressure P s1 acts on areas 212, 213 of the valve 201 while the pressure P s2 acts on area 215. When the valve 201 moves to the right due to an excess pressure difference, the source P s2 is connected to the load line 22 through passage 28 and also acts on area 222 due to the connecting passages 221, 220 in the valve. The pressure P s1 now only acts on area 213. Movement of the valve also changes the connection of return line 23 to the passage 16 connected to the second source. Two change-over valves controlled by a pilot valve may be provided (see Division G3).
