Abstract

1,060,411. Space heaters; ventilating. IDEAL-STANDARD Ltd. Feb. 8, 1965 [Feb. 20, 1964], No. 7210/64. Headings F4S and F4V. A space heater adapted to supply hot air to either or both of two adjacent rooms comprises a flatsided casing 2 surrounding a hot water central heating radiator 12, opposite sides of the casing having inlets 6, 7 for cold air at the bottom and outlets 8, 10 for the heated air at the top, a damper plate 28 being pivoted at 29 and operated by a knob 39 outside the casing to direct the hot air into the rooms as required. The heater may be built into the party wall or fitted against the wall with the rear air inlet and outlet registering with openings, in the wall. A fan mounted in the casing blows air over the radiator, baffles 84, 50 directing the air in a sinusoidal path. A damper similar to the damper 28 may be provided to control the flow of cold air into the heater and may be interconnected with the upper damper for simultaneous operation.
