Abstract

1,057,936. Hose connections. R. T. DENYES. March 26, 1964 [March 29, 1963], No. 12826/64. Heading F2G. In an assembly of a resilient end portion of a hose adapted to receive a pipe fitting and clamping means contractible radially to clamp the hose on to the fitting, there is provided mounting means which maintains the clamping means in predetermined positional relationship on the hose end prior to reception of the fitting and contraction of the clamping means. As shown, an aperture in the clamp 20 embraces a lug 24 adhesively secured to the hose 18. In modifications, (a) lugs are positioned on either side of the clamp, and the lugs may include stop members to prevent angular movement of the clamp, (b) U-shaped clips engage over the end of the hose and extend over the band of the clamp, and (c) the clamp is held on to the hose by stapling.
