Abstract
1,054,520. Pipe couplings. AGA A.B. Nov. 30, 1965, No. 50746/65. Heading F2G. A coupling body 1 has a bore 2 for the reception of a tubular member 3, the bore having an enlargement forming a valve chamber 4 in which is disposed a sleeve 5 adapted to cooperate with a seat 8 on a connecting tube 7 and to accommodate a sealing ring 13 betwesn the end wall of the chamber and an interior shoulder of the sleeve. A spring-pressed valve 12 is axially movable between a closed position in which a shoulder on the valve seats on a washer 14 and an open position caused by insertion of the member 3 into the body. A seal 11 retains the sleeve in position. The body carries locking pins 16 slidable in slots 17 and urged to the locking position by a spring 19 in which position the pins engage in grooves 20 in the member 3; a sleeve 21 extracts the pins from the slots.
