Abstract
1,054,308. Container closures. LE BOUCHAGE MECANIQUE. June 12, 1964 [June 12, 1963], No. 24518/64. Heading B8T. A tamper-proof, screw-cap closure, made of yielding plastics material, comprises an upper internally threaded cap part 1, Fig. 1 (not shown), and a lower ring 2 interconnected by a weakened frangible portion 11 and is fitted on a, bottle &c. neck 3, the bottom of which has a shoulder 4. The lower ring 2 of the cap has four pawls, 9 Fig. 3 (not shown), moulded thereon so as to lie obliquely to its wall and preferably arranged in diametrically opposite pairs. The top edges of the pawls 9 are joined to the upper part 1 of the cap by being bridged over with material 11 giving the frangible portion. The collar 13 of the bottle &c. neck, which engages the lower ring 2 of the cap, is shaped as two half-cylinders interconnected by two stop faces which serve as catches for the pawls 9 and prevent the unscrewing of the ring. The upper threaded cap part 1 can thus be unscrewed on the rupturing of the fragile portion 11.
