Abstract
1,053,971. Valves. ZERO ELECTRIC Ltd. March 3, 1964 [May 30, 1963], No. 21594/63. Heading F2V. A fluid control valve comprises a body 1 with inlet and outlet openings 3 and 4 to and from a chamber 2 and having a screw-threaded open end part 1a closed by removable, externally and internally screw-threaded tubular housing 6 through which passes a screwthreaded stem 7 carrying an enlarged valve head 14 which seats on valve seat 15 and closes a passage between the inlet and outlet openings when the valve members stem is screwed inwards to close fully the valve, and seats on a back-stop 16 when the valve member stem is screwed outwards to open fully the valve, said tubular housing and valve body also having ports 17 leading to an exterior opening 19, said ports being closed when the valve head is engaged with its back-stop, sealing rings 23 and 21 carried by the tubular housing and by the valve stem being incorporated to prevent fluid leakage along the screw-threaded surfaces, said sealing rings, valve member and tubular housing together being removable as a unit from the valve body. The back-stop 16 is formed by a copper seating washer, and the clearance between the valve stem and the central hole of the washer permits fluid to pass to port 19. A screw-cap 12 is provided.
