1,046,838. Folding roofs. FERRO STAMPING CO. Sept. 2, 1964, No. 35883/64. Heading B7B. An operating mechanism for a sliding roof comprises a reversible electric motor 18 resiliently mounted on a bracket 24 and driving through a worm drive 20 flexible cables 52 extending towards the sides of the vehicle where drive units 14 operate the racks 68 connected to the folding roof. Each unit 14 has a pinion 64 meshing with the rack 68 and driven from the worm wheel 62 rotated by the worm 56 terminating the drive cable.
