Abstract

1,045,458. Vehicle headlamps. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. Sept. 23, 1965 [Sept. 26, 1964], No. 40547/65. Heading F4R. The headlamp comprises a first parabolic reflector 10 having an incandescent body 12 at the focus and a second parabolic reflector 11 with a second incandescent body 13 behind its focus, the reflector 11 having its upper part cut away and the light rays which fall on the remainder being reflected with a downward component as at 27, 28, while light from the body 13 falling on the reflector 10 is also reflected with a downward component as at 25, 26. The axes of the reflectors may coincide or be parallel or inclined at a slight angle to one another.
