Abstract

1,044,321. Moulding foamable plastics. SINGER. COBBLE Ltd. Oct. 8, 1962 [Sept. 13, 1961], No. 32808/61. Heading B5A. Foamable plastics, e.g. polyurethane rubber &c. is cast from transversely reciprocating dispenser 27 of a longitudinally and vertically adjustable mixing head 26 into a paper trough from paper roll 29 movable over longitudinally adjustable and variably inclined skid 22 followed by a horizontal conveyer 20 upon which the plastics is initially still fluid or semi-fluid. The foam sets to rectangular dimensions determined by a side travelling guide 33 and fixed side guide 34, both resiliently sprung, and an overhead guide comprising paper from roll 35 passing against resiliently mounted guide 37. The paper from roll 29 may be drawn through positively or by the tractive effort of conveyer 20.
