Abstract

L’invention concerne un radar à antenne active apte à produire une image à haute résolution angulaire sur une large couverture angulaire, l’antenne comprenant un nombre N de voies d’émission et un nombre M de voies de réception, chaque voie d’émission et de réception comprenant une antenne élémentaire :- chaque antenne élémentaire comprend une lentille ou un réflecteur associé(e) avec un réseau de sources élémentaires, lesdites sources étant configurées pour éclairer la lentille ou le réflecteur et au moins les ouvertures étant sensiblement disposées dans le plan focal de ladite lentille ou centrées autour du foyer dudit réflecteur ;- chaque source élémentaire en émission, respectivement en réception, étant apte à former, respectivement à recevoir, un faisceau focalisé dans une direction donnée, les directions étant différentes d’une source en émission, respectivement en réception, à une autre d’une même antenne élémentaire ;- chaque source élémentaire en émission, respectivement en réception, étant connectée à un amplificateur de puissance, respectivement à un amplificateur faible bruit, et à un moyen de commutation permettant d’alimenter ou pas ladite source, respectivement de recevoir ou pas les signaux issus de ladite source.
