L'invention concerne la réalisation d'un élément d'habillage (3') pour véhicule automobile, dans laquelle un moule de formage comporte, côté matrice ou côté poinçon, au moins une lame rectiligne ayant une section en forme de V ; un empilement formé au moins d'un matériau de couverture textile, en cuir, en peau ou en matière synthétique, et d'une couche de mousse en face arrière de ce matériau de couverture, étant placé dans le moule et ladite lame définissant, dans l'élément d'habillage une fois formé, une ligne de pliage (51, 53).
