Description

The present invention relates to an assembly comprising on the one hand a battery, in particular of a motor vehicle, and, on the other hand, a conductor of electricity, a pad being disposed between the conductor and the battery. The present invention also relates to a motor vehicle having a compartment in which there is a battery, a conductor of electricity located outside the compartment and a stud ensuring the electrical connection between the battery and the driver through a wall, partition or apron separating the compartment in which the battery is located. In the prior art, assemblies of this kind are already known. The conductor of electricity is in the form of a flexible cable that must be arranged in a chute and fix along its path to ensure a certain proper positioning of it relative to the body of the motor vehicle under which it extends, and when it comes to cross the deck to bring it into contact with the battery, the current systems are complicated and cumbersome. The present invention aims to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art by proposing an assembly of the kind mentioned above which is of simpler design and which, in addition, allows easy passage through the partition of the compartment in which the battery is located. According to the invention, an assembly comprising a battery, an electricity conductor and an electrical connection system between the conductor and the battery, the connection system comprising a stud intended to pass through a partition, is characterized in that the conductor of electricity is in the form of a bar made of rigid material, in that the stud is derived, in particular substantially perpendicularly, from this rigid bar and the stud is fixed to the rigid bar by welding, in particular by ultrasound or by friction .

Preferably, the rigid rod-shaped conductor has at its end a flat surface on which is welded the pad, preferably by its base. Preferably, the stud is in the form of a bi-material terminal consisting of a rod and a flange surrounding the rod, the fixing of the stud to the bar being effected at the lower edge of the flange. Preferably, the rod is made of a material that is harder than that of the collar, whereas the material of the collar is made of a material that is more conductive than that of the rod, and the rod is intended to cooperate, in particular by screwing, with a nut while the collar is in electrical connection with the battery, the cooperation of the rod and the nut ensuring the stability of the electric connection flange-battery. Preferably, a plug in the form of a ring or washer is connected to the battery by a cable and this plug comes to surround the stud, in particular the collar of the bi-material terminal, to ensure the electrical contact between the battery and the driver under the shape of a bar. Preferably, the bar is made of aluminum, while the rod is made of steel and the collar is made of copper.

The present invention also relates to a motor vehicle comprising an assembly according to the invention, the battery being arranged in a compartment, in particular the engine compartment at the front, the trunk at the rear or the passenger compartment, the compartment being separated by a partition of a conductive bar, and a stud passing through the partition to provide the electrical connection between the battery and the conductive bar, the pad being welded directly in contact with the surface of the conductive bar, in particular by ultrasound or friction. By way of example, a preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of the various components of an assembly and a vehicle according to the invention; Figure 2 is a perspective view of a portion of the assembly of Figure 1, in the assembled state of the components, without the partition or the protective housing; and FIG. 3 is a sectional view in the plane AA of FIG. 2. As seen in the figures, a bar 1 made of rigid material, that is to say which can not be deformed by the simple force of a human being of medium height and strength when he takes it in both hands and tries to bend it, especially when he tries to fold it in a reversible way. This bar 1, in particular aluminum, has at its end a flat portion 2. On this flat portion 2, is fixed a terminal 3 bi material. Terminal 3 bi material is composed of a first rod-shaped element 4 and a second flange-shaped element 5 partially surrounding the rod-like element 4. The rod-shaped element 4 comprises a section 6 which projects outside the element 5 in the form of a collar. The rest of the rod, that is to say the section 7 of the rod-shaped element is surrounded by the collar 5 and is fixed thereto, for example by tight fitting or gluing, welding, etc. The proximal end of the rod 4, that is to say on the side of the section 7, is at a distance from the flat part 2. A battery is in a compartment, for example the trunk, the engine compartment or the passenger compartment, especially at the front or the rear of a motor vehicle. This battery comprises a connection plug 9 in the form of a washer at the end of a cable from the battery. The battery and the connection washer 9 are separated from the aluminum bar 1 by a partition 10. The bi-material terminal 3 passes through the apron. The ring 9 comes into contact with its inner wall 8 with the upper edge of the flange 5. The rod 4 made of a material harder than the material of the flange 5 cooperates with a nut 12 to ensure the stability of the flange-washer connection and also possibly the attachment to the deck. The material of the rod 4 is not necessarily conductive and may be an insulating material. It is made of a hard material, especially steel, which supports the conventional tightening constraints in the automobile. For example the elastic resistance to the extension is greater than 600 MPa, and is in particular between 630 MPa and 650 MPa. The material of the flange 5 is made of a conductive material, in particular copper. Fixing the flange 5 to the flat 2 is preferably by ultrasonic welding, by its proximal or lower edge.

In Figure 1, there is also shown the protective housing of the bars 1 which comprises a cover 20 and a bottom 21 which snap into receiving the bars 1. The bottom 21 is applied against the outer side of the partition by passing through a hole of rectangular shape corresponding to the shape of the parallelepipedal auxiliary housing 23 and three holes 24 cooperating with the fixing studs 25. The bi-material terminals 3 pass through the bottom 21 of the housing, by circular holes ( not visible in the figure) formed in the bottom 21 inside the auxiliary housing 23, and the partition 10 by the rectangular-shaped hole formed in the partition being protected by the side wall of the auxiliary housing 23 which also passes through the partition . Preferably, the rod-shaped member does not extend over the entire axial or longitudinal extent of the flange-shaped member, a void being formed in the flange between its proximal or lower edge and lower or proximal end of the rod-shaped element. Preferably, the rod-shaped element is fixed against the inner walls of the flange-shaped element, at least on a portion of the section of the rod-shaped element which is inside the flange. .
