Abstract

The process comprises immersing fibers in a hydrosol polymer, and drying and gelling the hydrosol. The fibers are obtained from the origin of plants such as hemp and linen, and are mineral fibers consisting of glass fibers. The fibers are present: in the form of bands, strips, ribbons, cloth, sheets and mat; in woven or non-woven form; and in the form of ordered network or non-ordered network. The glass fibers are arranged in mat in the form of warp and weft. The vinyl chloride homopolymer present in the dispersed phase of hydrosol is obtained by radical polymerization in aqueous emulsion. The process comprises immersing fibers in a hydrosol polymer, and drying and gelling the hydrosol. The fibers are obtained from the origin of plants such as hemp and linen, and are mineral fibers consisting of glass fibers. The fibers are present: in the form of bands, strips, ribbons, cloth, sheets and mat; in woven or non-woven form; and in the form of ordered network or non-ordered network. The glass fibers are arranged in mat in the form of warp and weft. The vinyl chloride homopolymer present in the dispersed phase of hydrosol is obtained by radical polymerization in aqueous emulsion. The fibers extend in a hydrosol bath (3) having a dimension to ensure their complete immersion in the hydrosol. The drying step is performed using air, and is heated at a temperature, which is lower than the temperature of decomposition of hydrosol and fibers. The gelling step is performed by applying an infrared radiation on the hydrosol at a temperature, which is higher than a glass transition temperature of polymer. Independent claims are included for: (1) a composite material; and (2) profiles reinforced by the composite material.
