Abstract
The invention especially relates to a method for treating the surface of a printed security document (1), in which an ultra-thin coating (3, 3') is deposited on at least one of the faces (10, 11) of said document (1) using an atmospheric-pressure plasma technique. The invention is characterized in that a protective film (2) is deposited on, or applied to the aforementioned face (10, 11) before the ultra-thin coating (3, 3') is deposited thereon.
