Description

La présente invention concerne un véhicule automobile du type découvrableThe present invention relates to a motor vehicle of the discoverable type

Motor vehicles are known whose flag comprises one or more rigid roof panels, movable manually or automatically between a deployed position of cover of the passenger compartment and a more or less retracted position to discover the passenger compartment according to the external climatic conditions. Motor vehicles equipped with a removable hardtop and able to be stowed in a trunk compartment are also known.

Also known are motor vehicles with a removable cover module of the passenger compartment comprising, for each side side of the vehicle, a roof panel constituted by a roll-shaped piece fixed on the vehicle structure. Each sidewall supports a cassette forming a rear window of the vehicle and a flexible roof device capable of sliding between two extreme positions respectively a folded position on the cassette and an unfolded position covering the passenger compartment. The cassette is adapted to be dismantled and stored in the vehicle in the extreme position corresponding to the folded position of the flexible roof. But, the roofs of these vehicles have a complex kinematics and require a number of connecting pieces and significant support and they are limited in their ability to transform the vehicle into different configurations. The object of the invention is to propose a motor vehicle whose appearance is metamorphosed very rapidly, from the sedan configuration to a convertible vehicle or a convertible and vice versa, and this by means that are simple to implement. The invention therefore relates to a vehicle of the discoverable type, comprising: - a trunk panel and a rear window located substantially in the extension of the trunk panel, and - at least two roof panels movable between an extended position of cover of the passenger compartment and a retracted position, characterized in that the rear window is independent of the roof panels and the roof panels are, in the retracted position, carried by a removable cassette associated with means for tilting said roof panels and of the cassette in a trunk compartment in a substantially vertical position. According to other features of the invention: the tilting means comprise, on each side of the vehicle, on the one hand, a motorized front arm articulated at each of its ends respectively on the cassette and on a fixed part of the vehicle and, on the other hand, a rear arm whose first end is connected to the cassette and a second end of which cooperates with at least one guide rail having a C-shaped longitudinal profile whose opening is oriented towards the front of the vehicle, the rear window is movable in translation between a position 15 protruding in the extension of the roof panels in the deployed position and a retracted position in the trunk panel, and the second end of the rear arm comprises at least one roller horizontal axis cooperating with said guide rail. The features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description, given by way of example and with reference to the appended drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a schematic perspective view of a vehicle 2 is a schematic view in longitudinal section of the rear part of the vehicle with the roof panels in the retracted position; FIG. 3 is a schematic view in perspective and on a larger scale; means for tilting the roof panels in a trunk compartment of the vehicle, and - Figures 4 to 6 are schematic perspective views of the rear part of the vehicle showing the kinematics of tilting of the roof panels in the trunk compartment. .

In what follows, the orientations used are the usual orientations of a motor vehicle and the terms "front" and "rear" refer to the position of a driver and the normal direction of the vehicle.

FIG. 1 diagrammatically shows a vehicle designated by the general reference 1 and which has a passenger compartment 2 delimited, among others, at its front part, by a windshield 3, on each side by a side door 4, to its rear part by a boot panel 5 surmounted by a rear window 6 and, at its upper part, by a flag generally designated by the reference 10. As shown in this figure, the rear window 6 is located substantially in the extension of the trunk panel 5 which, in conventional manner, may be tilted towards the rear of the vehicle to allow access to a trunk compartment 7 (Figure 2).

In the embodiment shown in the figures, the horn 10 is formed of at least two panels 11, movable by appropriate means of known type, not shown, between an extended position in which these roof panels 11 are placed. one after the other so as to cover the passenger compartment 2 - (Figure 1) and a retracted position in which these roof panels 11 are placed one on the other (Figure 2). The rear window 6 is independent of the roof panels 11. In the retracted position of the roof panels 11, these roof panels 11 are carried by a removable cassette 15 associated with tilting means 20 of said roof panels 11 and the cassette 15 in the trunk compartment 7 in a substantially vertical position, as shown in Figure 6. The cassette 15 is, as shown in Figure 2, located substantially in the extension of the rear window 6 in its projecting position.

The tilting means of the cassette 15 supporting the panels 11 in the retracted position comprise, on each side of the motor vehicle, a motorized front arm 21 and a rear arm 25.

As shown in Figure 3, the front arm 21 has a first end 21a articulated on one side of the cassette 15 and a second end 21b hingedly mounted on a fixed part of the vehicle, such as a lateral amount of the vehicle structure or any other fixed element. This end 21b is integral with an axis 22 which is rotated, for example by an electric motor or by any other known system, not shown. The rear arm 25 has a first end 25a fixed on one side of the cassette 15 and a second end 25b provided with at least one roller 26 with a horizontal axis and which cooperates with at least one guide rail 30. This guide rail 30 extends in a vertical plane and has a C-shaped longitudinal profile whose opening is oriented towards the front of the vehicle. The upper end 30a of the rail 30 is located above the trunk compartment 7 and the lower end 30b is located at the bottom of the trunk compartment 7 behind a row of seats 9, as shown in Figure 2. To discover the upper part of the passenger compartment 2, a user proceeds as follows. First, it controls the movement of the roof panels 11 to bring them in the folded position on the cassette 11, as shown in Figure 2. In this configuration, the cabin 2 is discovered and the rear window can be placed in the extension of the roof panels 11 folded and the motor vehicle is in an open configuration. To transform the motor vehicle into a cabriolet, the user controls the movement of the rear window 6 to bring it partially or totally retracted position in the boot panel 5. Then, the user actuates the electric motor associated with the axis 22 to rotate this axis 22. The rotation of said shaft 22 has the effect of pivoting the front arm 21 and gradually moving the cassette 15 carrying the roof panels 11 in the folded position to the trunk compartment 7. When the tilting of these arms 21 each located on one side of the vehicle, the roller 26 of each rear arm 25 moves in the corresponding guide rail 30. Taking into account the C-shaped longitudinal profile of each guide rail 30, the cassette 15 carrying the roof panels 11 in the folded position tilts in the trunk compartment 7, as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5 and this cassette 15 carrying the roof panels 11 is placed in the trunk compartment 7 in a substantially vertical position behind the row of seats 9, as shown in Figure 6. In this position of the cassette 15, the rear window 6 can be placed in projection relative to the boot panel 5 and the side windows of the motor vehicle can also be raised to protect the occupants of the vehicle, while having a motor vehicle in the discovery configuration. This rear window 6 and the side windows of the vehicle can also be retracted to transform the vehicle into a cabriolet configuration. The motor vehicle according to the invention has the advantage of being able to be converted very quickly, from the sedan configuration to a convertible vehicle or a convertible and vice versa. The means allowing these transformations are simple to implement and require no manual intervention of a user.
