Abstract

The cutting tool for cutting a plastic film (3) on a metal support plate (4), operates by use of a heated blade to cut through the plastic by fusion. The tool may be flat or rotary, and carries cutting blades which may be either continuous or separated. The blades are heated either by means of hot circulating oil or by electrical resistance heating elements. In alternative designs, the blades may be heated by hot air or by magnetic induction heating.
