Abstract

The multiple wavelength ring network has two single direction fibre optical rings (F1,F2). The rings have nodes (N1..N4) with optical pointers (A1 to A4). The nodes are connected to the user transmission equipment (M1 to M4). Two Fibre optical cables (FR1,FR2) connect the terminals to the nodes. Each terminal has an assigned wavelength, which is extracted from the optical ring by switching the optical pointer.
