Abstract

Improvement made to devices known as "snowboards", of the type including a ski-type sliding body whose upper face constitutes a bearing surface for the user's feet, his feet being connected to two bindings and bearing devices permitting holding of the user on the said snowboard and guiding of the board by the user, characterised in that the line axes 4, 5 of the right and left sides of the snowboard are offset substantially by the difference of the front and rear bearing axes owing to the inclination of the bindings.

Description

 The present invention relates to an improvement made to so-called "snowboarding" machines, of the type comprising a sliding body of ski type, the upper face of which constitutes a bearing surface for the feet of the user, the feet of that -this being connected to two fixings and supports allowing the user to be maintained on said surf and the guide thereof by the user.

 Surfboards of this type are in themselves well known and derive directly from devices of the same type used for a long time on the water.

 The position on a board is defined in two terms, either "REGULAR" for right-handed: relative to the slope, the skier is oriented to the right, or "GOOFY" for left-handed: relative to the slope, the skier is oriented to left.

 The present invention adapts to two positions. but having right or left handed surfboards, but also a single bivalent form with two front and rear spatulas.

 To better understand the state of the art, we will first refer to Figure 1, which is a schematic elevation of a surfboard of the prior art.

For a turn to the right, the skier shifts his center of gravity to the right by leaning at the end of the foot on the right side of the board.

 The hollowest part of the right side line is located between these support points A and B in the middle part H.

 For a turn to the left, the skier shifts his center of gravity to the left, leaning on the heels on I left side of the board: the hollow point of the left side line I is no longer located in the middle part, but is strongly shifts to support point E.

 For a good conduct of the turn, the skier must then transfer his support pressures from F to E, that is to say increase the pressure at E and decrease it at F. This pressure imbalance therefore requires a position of different skier balance for a turn to the right and to the left.

 The object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks.

 In accordance with the latter, an improvement is proposed to so-called "snowboarding" machines, of the type comprising a ski-type sliding body the upper face of which constitutes a bearing surface for the feet of the user, the feet thereof being connected to two fixings and supports allowing the user to remain on said board and the guide thereof by the user, characterized in that the line axes of the right and left sides of the board are offset significantly from the difference of the front and rear support axes due to the inclination of the fasteners.

 The invention will be better understood with reference to the accompanying drawings in which, in addition to the above-mentioned FIG. 1 which illustrates the prior art, FIG. 2 is an elevation view of a surfboard according to the invention.

 With reference to FIG. 2, the surf comprises - a sliding surface 1), - two support zones (2,3) serving as fixings for the feet - of the user, respectively front (2) and rear (3 ).

 Operation has been explained previously with reference to FIG. 1.

According to the invention, the axes (4) of the right side line and (5) of the left side are offset by the difference (or substantially thereof) between the front and rear support axes, due to the differences in inclination fixings
Thus, the midpoint of the rear support points E and F, is superimposed on the hollow point I of the left side line, and therefore allows, as for the front, to have a balanced heel support on the support points
EF.

 Clearly, the heel support points are balanced with respect to the most hollow point of the left side line, while the external support points remain symmetrical with respect to the most hollow point of the right side line.

 Driving the left turn will therefore be similar to driving on the right in that the fulcrum of the heels will be equidistant from the most hollow point of the curve, on both sides of the board.

Improvement brought to the so-called "snowboarding" machines. of the type comprising a ski-type sliding body the upper face of which constitutes a bearing surface for the feet of the user, the feet of the latter being connected to two fixings and supports allowing the user to be held on said surf and the guide thereof by the user, characterized in that the line axes (4,5) of the right and left sides of the surf are offset substantially by the difference of the front and rear support axes due to the of the fixings. 2. Improvement according to claim 1, characterized in that the midpoint of the rear support points E and F is superimposed on the hollow point I of the left side line, and therefore allows as for the front to have a support balanced heel on EF support points.
