Abstract

Toothbrush of the type comprising a reserve of toothpaste 2 in the handle 1, and this reserve communicates directly with the bristles 4 of the brush via a channel 7 provided from the handle 1, inside the support 3 of the bristles 4; the toothpaste is propelled from the reservoir towards the bristles 4 by means of a piston-type movable member 9 arranged in the handle 1, characterised in that the piston 9 is movable through the effect of a pressurised fluid, supplied at the discretion of the user, by means of a pump 10 arranged at the end of the handle 1. The reserve of toothpaste 2 is enclosed in a cartridge 8 arranged inside the handle 1. The channel 7 for supplying the toothpaste at the base of the bristles 4 comprises, at its end, a member 15 equipped with a sphincter 17 for isolating the toothpaste from the outside and thus preventing its drying-out.

- CLAIMS

1.- Toothbrush of the type comprising a reserve of toothpaste (2) -in the handle (1), this reserve communicates directly with the bristles (4) of the brush, by a channel (7) arranged from the handle (1 ), inside the support (3) of the bristles (4); the dentifri-ce is propelled from the reservoir towards the bristles (4), by means of a movable member of the piston type (9) disposed in the handle (1), characterized in that the piston (9) is movable under the effect of a pressurized fluid brought at discretion by the user, by means of a pump (10) disposed at the end of the handle (1).

2.- Toothbrush according to claim I, characterized in that the reserve of toothpaste (2) is enclosed in a cartridge (8) disposed inside the handle (1) and open at its front end to communicate with the channel (7) for feeding the toothpaste to the bristles (4) and closed at its rear end by means of the toothpaste propelling piston (9).

3.- Toothbrush according to any one of claims 1 cu 2, characterized in that the channel (7) supplying the toothpaste to the base of the bristles (4) comprises, at its end, a member (15 ' ) fitted with a sphincter (17) to isolate the toothpaste from the outside and thus prevent drying.

4.- Toothbrush according to claim 3, characterized in that the member (15) with sphincter, constitutes at the same time, a tap turning, arranged in the support (3) and manipulated from the back of said support.

A toothbrush according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the pump (10), disposed at the end of the handle (1), is an air type pump, actuated by the thumb of the user and provided with a valve disposed between the internal volume of the pump and the piston (9) of the cartridge (8).

6.- Toothbrush according to claim 5, characterized in that the pump consists of a bellows (24) integral with the end (1) of the handle and of a watertight partition (23) on which the valve (22).

7.- Toothbrush according to claim 5, characterized in that the pump consists of a piston (28) movable in a jacket (29) which extends the partition (23) and a spring (30) disposed between the end of the piston and the bulkhead (23).

8.- Toothbrush according to claim 7, characterized in that the spring (30) is disposed outside of the envelope (29) and of the piston (28) in an external envelope (31) integral with the end of the piston (28) and an envelope (32) integral with the end of the handle (1).

9.- Toothbrush according to any one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that it comprises a case (5) covering the support (3) and the bristles (4), provided with an attachment clamp (6 ) and air vents (14).

10.- Toothbrush according to claim 9, characterized in that the case comprises, at its extremist (13), a small key (19) intended to manipulate the tongue (18) of the member (15).

11.- Toothbrush cartridge for toothbrush according to one of claims 1 to 10, characterized in that it consists of a cylinder whose ends are closed on one side by a removable plug, and, l 'other side by a movable piston (9), disposed inside said cartridge.

12.- Toothbrush cartridge for toothbrush according to any one of claims 2 to 11, characterized in that the handle (1) and the cartridge (8) are made of a transparent material.
